Welcome to the Writing Process Blog Tour!
Hello everyone! Kinzy here. For those of you who don't yet know me (gasp), I am the Charming Koala with the Huge Ego. I am here because two of my friends, Stanley and Katrina von Cat the Master of Wisdom and Knowledge, invited, or to use the term nowadays, tagged me to answer some questions about me and my writing awesomeness, so naturally I had to accept. Here are the questions, enjoy the awesomeness!
What am I working on?
Interesting question. I am in fact working on a brand new book at the moment, titled The Krazy Kinzy Kapers, A Continuum of the Kinzy Chronicles. It will be a book of short stories, and will have real live photographs instead of drawings. We've just sent off what we think is the final proof copy, meaning it is soon to be released!
How does my work differ from others of that genre?
Well, first of all, it's me, so clearly it's better, but second of all, this genre hasn't been delved into all that much. My book is in between a picture book and a chapter book, all in short stories. Plus the photographs differentiate The Krazy Kinzy Kapers from other books.
Why do I write what I do?
Well, there is, of course, nothing better to write about than myself, being me. But also, it is quite fun to write about the sillyishness of my good friends and my evil enemies. I believe I am the only sane one of them.
How does my writing process work?
Well, I have an author who writes my books, so I'll tell you how she does it. She normally makes deadlines so that she stays on track. The strictest of deadlines is for the first draft. She uses a website called National Novel Writing Month, which challenges you to write a first draft in 30 days. Editing takes 1 or 2 months, and then we usually get the book out by May.
Who's up for next week? (or so?)
Sydney Campanella is an awesome, 12-year-old author of two books! She is also working on a third book. Her website is: http://www.sydneycampanella.com
